This is Lilly......
Lilly was born in Febuary 2007, she the most gorgeous Grey eyes and blond hair. She needs our help, Lilly has no parents, and no family, she is an orphan.
Lilly has Down Syndrome and also has a significant heart defect. Lilly needs our help to fund her adoption so that a forever family can make her part of their lives and she gets to call someone mummy again.
I found Lilly through Reece's Rainbow, if your unfamiliar with them please take the time to visit their website and take a look around, grab a coffee, go the loo and most importantly grab some tissues before you do though, because once your on the site, you will be stuck there for hours, its impossible to not click on just one more child, to read their story, there are just so many of them, with big bright eyes looking back at you *hence the need for tissues* and more than that, its impossible to not want to help one of these little angels.
I was actually there to donate for another little angel girl, Kate, my amazing friend Vicky is helping to raise money and awareness and like me, trying to help fund a little angel so that a family can adopt her. Kate is also stunning, she has the deepest brown eyes that will melt your heart, I dare you to visit the site and not be drawn in by Kate :0)
After searching through all the little ones, and being unable to choose the specific angel to help I decided to go with what my kids felt, my little princesses are 3 and 6 and so I asked them which little one should we concentrate on raising money for.
Both of them instantly chose Lilly, my 6 year old, who is also called Lily chose her "because she is beautiful like me, all Lily's are beautiful" she proudly announced (which is very true might I add) my youngest, Jessica age 3 chose her because she copies everything her big sister does :0)
Simple.....Now the hard part starts.....
I have been a member of Slimming World for just under 10 months. When I started I walked in to that meeting room, a size 32 in uk womens clothes, and on my first weighin the scales read out at 19 stone 12.5lbs. (((((blush)))))
Last week I got an award for a total of 5 stones lost :0) I am half way through my journey and have decided its time these lost lbs went towards gaining some £'s for this reece's rainbow angel x
I had toyed with the idea of a sponsored slim at the beginning of the year. But was afraid I'd fail the diet and let people down, then to be honest I got caught up in the diet so much I forgot about starting the sponsorship.
Id now like to take it upon myself, to ask you all to help me, I know I can complete this weight loss no matter what, I have around 4-5 stone to loose, yet as Im getting married in May 2013 Im tempted to make it 5-6 stone, who knows. Its going to be tough, as anyone who has dieted will know, that the less you have to loose, the harder it is.
When you attend a Slimming World meeting your asked, "why do you want to loose weight" I replied simply "Because I dont want to die and leave my babies without a mum, no one can look after my babies as well as I can"
My Lily and Jessica have me, and now I'm on the road to my weightloss target they will surely have me a lot longer than they where going to.
Lilly dosent have anyone, no mummy, no daddy and no one to fight for her, help me to help her and help myself along the way :0)
